2-Day Retreat: 9:30am-12:30pm PT each day

description

Wednesday, Jan. 15 + Friday, Jan. 24

9:30am-12:30pm PT both days

An interactive virtual working retreat hosted live on Zoom by artist Kimberly Kuniko for fellow creative small business owners. This 2-day retreat is for carving out some time and space to thoughtfully imagine 2025, discern directions, set intentions and achievable goals that keep our creative dreams in sight and growing, and begin working towards them- all while enjoying the company of fellow small business owners in a cozy, virtual setting.

The flow of the retreat will be a mix of solo reflection, brainstorming, + planning intermingled with gently interactive, low-pressure group discussions and co-working as we work alongside each other envisioning 2025. Sessions are supplemented with printable materials + linked resources to support our work. The retreat is split into 2 half-days:

Wednesday, Jan. 15 (9:30am-12:30pm PT)

  • 9:30-9:45am Meet + Connect // A warm 'hello' and informal time to know each other as we cozy up for the day's session. ᰔᩚ Never fear! There are no social engagement expectations for our time together. This retreat is for you and your small business, and you're welcome to utilize the retreat however best suits your energies and workflow. While there will be opportunities for sharing or asking questions for those who'd like to do so, there's never any pressure to engage more than feels comfortable. Participants are welcome to have their screens off or use the chat box in lieu of speaking on screen. No one will be put on the spot, and there are no breakout group discussions planned for this retreat. ^.^

  • 9:45-10am | Reflect // Look back over 2024 to see what worked well, what inspired or challenged you, and anything you'd like to shift or adjust as you move into a new year. A gentle time of discerning what we want, need, and don't need- to bring with us or want to grow in 2025.

  • 10am-11:15am | Map // Map out your year while considering the systems needed to support you. A time to focus on planning, calendaring, short-, and long-term goals. We'll factor in our various income streams as well as time + resource allocation (taking into consideration time, energies, and personal preferences when it comes to our individual work styles).

  • 11:15-11:25am | Break // Reheat that cup of tea, stretch, or grab a snack.

  • 11:25-11:45am | Pare it Down // Pulling from your mapping, we'll identify 1-3 things we want to focus on at the start of 2025, and spend some time brainstorming how to set them in motion.

  • 11:45am-12:15pm | Creative Exhale // I'll have a surprise creativity prompt for us to explore as we wind from a productive morning or reflection and planning. Have a few art supplies nearby to play with (all creative mediums welcome). (Psst. I may or may not host a silly word game in the chat as we create- with prizes! ^.^).

  • 12:15-12:30pm | Wrap-Up // Debrief the day's explorations together.

Friday, Jan. 24 (9:30am-12:30pm PT)

  • 9:30-9:45am | Hello Again // A warm 'hello' and informal time to know each other as we cozy up for the day's session. I'll have a silly question for us to respond to as we settle in. ^.^

  • 9:45-10:45am | Communicate // Pulling from our goals and intentions from the previous session, we'll plan out some communications for the first few months of the 2025 (or get started drafting the first one!).

  • 10:45-11:45am | Repurpose + Refresh // An hour to give a little TLC to content/assets we've already created and/or identify areas that could use a little refresh. Focus your time in either of these 2 ways:

    • Build an Assets Archive to keep track of the various assets we've already created (i.e. illustrated elements, graphics, content, captions/text copy, blogposts, photography, prompts, retreat/workshop curriculum, etc) to be able to see- at a glance- what we can reuse or refresh in new designs, offerings, and content to make the most of our work.

    • Conduct a Website/Shop Review to repair any broken links or edit outdated info, update your bio, about page, terms + conditions, or design elements.

  • 11:45-11:55am | Break // Reheat that cup of tea, stretch, or grab a snack.

  • 11:55-12:15pm | Creative Exhale // I'll have a surprise creativity prompt for us to explore as we wind from a productive morning or reflection and planning. Have a few art supplies nearby to play with (all creative mediums welcome). (Psst. There's an excellent chance I'll host some more fun in the chat as we create! ^.^).

  • 12:15-12:30pm | Wrap-Up + Farewell // Debrief the day's explorations + retreat together.
