description
Explore geometry in a delightfully tactile way this autumn! Join me in Little Tokyo, DTLA, for a crafternoon spent learning to fold miura-ori, a rigid origami form first invented by astrophysicist Kōryo Miura in 1970 with his original map fold. Learn to fold a geometric herringbone to form a tessellation of parallelograms that allows the paper structure to collapse and unfold in a single motion.
Take home as many squares as you create during our session, and as we fold, you'll have a chance to contribute one of your squares to a group 'paper quilt' that I'll assemble as we go to build one, large group creation.
All materials provided- just bring yourself!
