It can be easy to overlook the details that make things just so. But when your love is as sure as these equations, it’s time to let the one you admire know that you cherish every part that makes them who they are.
➵ THE STORY ➵Ten years ago, my then-boyfriend-now-husband, delivered a handwritten note penned on graph paper. His geometrics depicted the story of a heart placed in an envelope, tucked into a boat, traveling down a river to a little stick-figure Kimberly.Jason was a math major who would later become a mathematics teacher. I was a psychology major who had not yet discovered the wonder to be found in ink and watercolors.Together, we created this card using the original heart and envelope graphs from his original note, and adding a cheery white mailbox for extra special delivery. His love note remains one of my most special treasures and hangs from my studio wall as a beautiful reminder of our beginning and the inspiring intersection between mathematics and art.
This card was featured in Stationery Trends Magazine on page 34.
