in its right place
As a small child, I loved making little homes in pencil boxes or desk organizers for my tids and bits to rest. I took great care to fit each item into compartments and cubbies as if they were puzzle pieces. And every time I cleaned my room, I would reorganize, shifting things ever so slightly and moving frequently-used items to the front so as to reach them with greater ease.
I love how some aspects of our childhood selves never change. Now at 33, I still take time and care in organizing my creative spaces, and feel most inspired in a place where everything has a home.
