This option includes the above Pattern Play sessions + a longer fifth session add-on, which covers technical aspects of preparing scanned artwork to be used for various types of surface design (scanning, editing in Photoshop, and rendering files for high print quality).

Hand Lettering with Art Pens, Part I

Hand-lettering has a wonderfully natural, delightfully personal touch that distinguishes it from fonts, typography, and printing press art forms.

In this workshop, we'll explore multiple styles of block lettering and cursive scripts while working with spacing, slant, varying pen weights, and line heights to convey different moods and messaging styles.

We'll cover helpful tips and tricks for planning out spacing, and students will have time to play with various lettering styles as well as work on hand lettering a quote or phrase.

Students will receive a recommended supplies list to purchase ahead of class (if you already have supplies, great!), or you can purchase an optional workshop add-on to have a starter kit mailed to you ahead of class.

Creative Business Chats

Dates/Times TBD

Live on Zoom

I'm working on designing several virtual Creative Business Chats on various topics including:

  • Story-Led Branding | Talking about your work and what you do through stories, inviting your audience into your corner, sharing your process, and building long-lasting relationships with customers

  • Balancing Act | Juggling an art business while working full-time, brainstorming ways to best utilize the time and resources you have, planning ahead for both slow and busy seasons, and avoiding burnout.

  • Shifting Seasons | Listening to your intuition and making note of what is or is not working, shifting direction in your business to follow your creative curiosities, and communicating changes to your audience with excitement and in a way that invites them along for the ride

Let me know which interest you most: Vote on topics!

1:1 Alongside Sessions

Dates/Times TBD

30-minute or 1-hour sessions available

Live call via Skype or Zoom

A one-on-one Skype call with me to brainstorm anything related to creative process, running a small business, or walking through a new concept for a project or offering.

Use our time to delve into starting a creative business, branding, promotion and talking about what you do, pricing, developing and launching new offerings, selling online and at craft shows, selling wholesale and working with reps, shifting directions in your business, planning ahead for slow seasons, fostering meaningful lifelong customer relationships, etc.

I'll offer encouragement and guidance along the way, and ask you questions to help dislodge your own ideas, vision, and aims. My role will not be one of a coach or mentor, but a fellow creative "alongsiding" with you as you explore your creative voice, envision, and set plans in motion.

I've found creative community to be invaluable and sometimes, all it takes to surpass a hurdle or make a breakthrough with an idea, is to talk it out with someone who gets it and can offer an outside perspective. This is where I come in with a listening ear, a love of ideation and posing questions, and an organizational mindset to help discern possible routes to help you along your creative journey.
