born into

I was born into a Star Wars family. My sisters and Iw ere introduced to the galaxy far, far away at a young age by my mom and her siblings who had been fans since A New Hope first graced the silver screen.
By the time I was a teenager, I was a dedicated fan with an appetite for Star Wars novels, a subscription to Star Wars Insider Magazine, my sisters and I had made a collection of character sock puppets as a gift for our mom that were pretty epic, and a budding assortment of collectibles (including a snowspeeder model, which is my absolutely favorite ship).
When I was 13 or 14, my mom, sisters, uncle and I road-tripped up to San Francisco to stay with another aunt and uncle., and attend the annual Star Wars Convention all together. Hearing the ever-witty and brilliantly comical Anthony Daniels tell stories of days spent on the set as C3P0 was by far one of the coolest experiences of my teenage days. We met Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Caroline Blakiston (Mon Monthma), and I distinctly remember thinking that Phil Brown (Owen Lars) would make a delightful adopted grandfather.
